Tegellalang Rice Terraces Ubud
We first visited Bali in 2015 and really enjoyed our diving and the vibrancy of the dive sites. At that time we started with visiting Tulanben, home to the Liberty wreck, and then moved inland for a few days to Ubud where we stayed at the Pura Gangga resort. We had a couple of days exploring the countryside, going for walks to the villages, temples and padi fields round the hotel before we headed back down the coast to stay near Padangbai, where we did the main part of our diving. At the Pura Gangga Mike tried out yoga for the first time and we both enjoyed an excellent Balinese massage.
On our 2917 holiday we decided that the focus would be a liveaboard trip in Komodo National Park. However, we spent a week first in Padangbai to get our dive legs back. See links to posts for our dives there

After our trip to Flores and Komodo we spent a couple of days in Ubud, it has definitely become more cosmopolitan since our trip a couple of years back and one can see how tourism is really funding the town with many more smart shops and restaurants. Here is a link to some photos of the beautiful scenery and buildings from the rural hikes we did there.
