Great day in the mountains today. We decided to hike the Bisse de Chevré (taking the chair lift up from Siviez to Combatseline) along to Cabane St Laurent above the Lac du Cleuson and then back down to Siviez.

The first time I did this hike was on the weekend I came out to Nendaz for the first time (August 2006) to look at the flat which we then purchased. One of the things which drove our decision was the outstanding hiking here. Glad that every time we come back I am happy with the choices we made at that time. At that time I did a shorter loop and still found it hard!
The wildflowers were outstanding today, so much variety. The weather was perfect with a light cool breeze, blue skies and a great stop at the Cabane for a couple of beers and a plate of cheese and local meats for lunch. I won a Fig Newton from Mike in a bet as to which ridge the summer cottage was that we snowshoed up to last winter at Chevré. Had I lost it would have been 3 to Mike!
Lovely sunny evening so having a BBQ on the balcony, duck breast in an apricot BBQ sauce. Perfect day and nice way to end a weekend, one highlight of which has to be England getting into the WC semi finals!
